Round table - Introduction of the EE requirements in public procurement in Montenegro

Ministry of Economy and Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro will organize the roundtable "Introduction of the energy efficiency requirements in public procurement in Montenegro", which will be held in the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro in Podgorica, on Wednesday, 21 January 2015, at 11 h.

The Law on Energy Efficiency ("Official Gazette of Montenegro" 29/10) stipulates that in the procedures for procurement of goods and services and purchase or lease of buildings the level of energy efficiency has to be considered. In order to further develop the legal framework and to adopt appropriate regulations which will ensure the introduction of energy efficiency requirements in public procurement procedures, the Ministry of Economy participates in the "Regional Energy Efficiency Program in the Western Balkans" (supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development - EBRD ), which provides an adequate expert support.
The company ECA (Economic Consulting Associates) is engaged as a consultant for the aforementioned work and the assignment of this company is also to prepare the following documents:
Rulebook on the methodology for determining the level of energy efficiency in the public procurement of goods and services,
Guideline for the introduction of minimum technical criteria in the procurement of energy efficient products in Montenegro.
