Podgorica, Montenegro (6 March 2015) -- As part of the administrative procedure reform, Montenegro’s Government, at its yesterday’s session, approved the Bill on Administrative Inspection. The adoption of the law will improve the level of legality, expertise and quality in dealing with administrative matters and strengthen the administrative inspection’s role in monitoring the application of laws and regulations in the areas of governance, civil service system, administrative procedures, local-self government, electoral registers, etc.
With the view to conducting priority activities that should enable more dynamic economic growth, the Cabinet adopted measures to be implemented in the fields of tourism, agriculture, transport and information society. The measures are set out in the recently adopted Montenegro’s Economic Reform Programme 2015-2017 and they are aimed at affecting the Montenegrin economy’s growth and improving the quality of life of citizens.
The government approved yesterday the amendments to the 2015 Annual Plan of the Investment and Development Fund of Montenegro. The session emphasised that the fund should pursue its business policy in a sustainable manner when it comes to the implementation of development projects. Accordingly, the Fund will conduct an interest rate policy, which will cover the costs of its operation, thus contributing to further reduction of interest rates, starting from the conditions under which it will provide funding in the international capital market. It is planned to undertake concrete measures to develop entrepreneurship, provide support to tourism, agriculture and rural development, improve cooperation with banks and subsidise interest rates for the country’s priority development projects.
The Government also decided that the Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases Divisions of the General Hospital Bijelo Polje needs an emergency reconstruction. It tasked the Directorate for Public Works to provide EUR 85,000 for the reconstruction of the building and replacement the entire hospital inventory.
The Cabinet’s session discussed the signing of the contracts with private pharmacies for issuance of prescribed medicines. The Government stated that the implementation of the agreements signed with 109 private pharmacies will contribute to better availability and quality supply of drugs, as the beneficiaries of the Health Insurance Fund will be able to take prescribed medicines under the same conditions in both private and state-owned pharmacies.
