Government of Montenegro and Konrad Adenauer Foundation to strengthen cooperation

Podgorica, Montenegro (18 March 2015) – Prime Minister Milo Đukanović met earlier today with Mr Norbert Bekman Dirkes, newly appointed Director of the German Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung for Serbia and Montenegro.

Mr Dirkes underlined that Montenegro has achieved remarkable results since regaining independence, commending the successful cooperation established between the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Montenegrin Government and its institutions.

PM ĐUkanović underlined that the Government is willing to intensify cooperation with the foundation, particularly when it comes to education and science. The Foundation will continue providing scholarships for talented students, he added.

The two officials agreed that continuous work with the youth and investments in their education, as well as creating opportunities for their professional specialisation, are of high significance for their education, employment and improvement in economy and business.

The meeting also discussed further cooperation between Montenegro and Konrad Adenauer Foundation in terms of the country’s EU and NATO accession process.
