Azerbaijan and Turkey interested in project of first scientific and technological park in Montenegro

Podgorica, Montenegro (9 April 2015) – Montenegro and Azerbaijan will boost cooperation in the field of science and technology, through the establishment of agreements on scientific and technological cooperation, Science Minister Sanja Vlahović and Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan Ali Abbasov underlined at today's meeting in istanbul.

The meeting paid particular attention to the establishment of Montenegro's first scientific and technological park. Minister Abbasov said that Azerbaijan is interested in implementing the project and he voiced hope that necessary actions towards obtaining his country's support and partnership will be undertaken in the coming period. 

On the sidelines of the 18th Eurasian Economic Summit in Istanbul, Minister Vlahović also met with a number of Turkish business people and investors, with whom she exchanged views on the establishment of the first scientific and technological park in Montenegro, as Turkey has considerable experience in this area and it can serve as a good model and partner in implementing the project. A significant number of business people showed interest in this project, as well as in the project of establishing centres of excellence and cooperation with already established centres in the field of bioinformatics in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Podgorica.
