The Earth Hour

On 28 March 2015, hundreds of millions of people in more than 135 countries on all continents will be united in order to give a contribution to the preservation of the earth by switching off the light for one hour - the Earth hour.

The Earth hour is a global campaign which includes individuals, organizations and companies in order to send a strong message stating that it is possible to make important steps in order to mitigate the consequences of climate change. The Earth hour was launched as an initiative of one city (Sidney, Australia) in 2007 and it has become a global movement with hundreds of millions of people from more than 7000 cities all over the world who created an historical event and one of the most largest global initiatives off all times in terms of environmental protection by switching off the lights.

Around 5300 cities from 152 countries with hundreds of millions of people from 7 continents joined the aforementioned initiative in 2014. The Earth hour will be celebrated in Montenegro for the seventh time. Many organizations from the civil society, representatives of relevant ministries, a number of organizations, companies and individuals have supported the Earth hour in Montenegro. Montenegrin citizens can participate in this global initiative by switching off lights from 8:30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.
