Deputy Prime Minister Lazović: .ME domain is Montenegro's best export brand
Podgorica, Montenegro (29 April 2015) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Information Society and Telecommunications Vujica Lazović took part at the press conference organised by the “DoMEn” company to present its business results achieved since the establishment of the company.
DPM Lazović highlighted that Montenegro has increased its income by approximately EUR 17 million within an effective valorisation of the national resource – .ME domain in the period between from February 2008 - December 2014.
“Those funds were invested in developing information society and modern administration, which entail the use of information and communication technologies aimed at improving public services, increasing democratic participation and engaging of the public. Having in mind that Montenegro seeks to become part of the European system of values, its public administration should have enough capacity to work in a more effective manner within the European administrative system”, DPM Lazović emphasised.
Montenegro has built its national identity and benefited from the use of digital technology, the “DoMEn” Director Predrag Lešić explained. The “DoMEn” has been recognised in the fields of corporative and social responsibility, particularly when it comes to strengthening entrepreneurship and innovations, he added.
The “DoMEn” is a coordinator and sponsor of the School of Programming, Montenegrin team's participation in the International Olympiad in Informatics and it is also advocating the Hachakton competition, Mr Lešić underlined, stressing the company’s influence is the most visible within the organisation of the conference entitled Spark.me.
