World Bank's support for Montenegro's reform process to be continued, Country Manager Proskuryakova says
Podgorica, Montenegro (15 May 2015) -- Finance Minister Radoje Žugić hosted earlier the World Bank’s Country Manager for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro Tatiana Proskuryakova, with whom he discussed further cooperation and development mechanisms, as well as enhancing of joint projects underway.
Minister Žugić emphasised the urgency of solving debt issues of the municipalities through expertise and financial support of the World Bank. This support, in his words, would involve continuous reporting and making analysis of financial condition and viability of local governments, as well as the implementation of a pilot project that could serve as a model for solving other local governments’ issues.
In that regard, Ms Proskuryakova voiced the World Bank’s willingness to provide advisory and financial support to Montenegro's reform process. She also commended implementation dynamics of the ongoing projects in the fields of health care and tax administration.
It was also agreed to continue communication on cooperation forms in the coming period.
