Technical Assistance for Danube Region Projects, START Danube Region Project Fund, Danube Financing Dialogue and EuroAccess Danube Region

Technical Assistance for Danube Region Projects
Two calls for project ideas were organized in 2013 and 2014. In total 35 projects addressing all Priority Areas received technical assistance support by selected consultants, involving 109 partners from 13 different EUSDR countries.

The third call for project ideas, launched on 20th of May, will be closed on 26th of June. Approximately 15 to 20 projects will be selected to receive support by the TAF-DRP consultants, in order to bring forward their project idea into a fundable/bankable project.

• START Danube Region Project Fund
After the great success of the first call for proposals (871 applications submitted!), 25 projects were eventually selected to receive a small grant in the form of seed money (10.000 to 40.000€ per project). Project implementation is currently ongoing, the first projects are expected to be finalized by the end of 2015.

The European Commission agreed in October 2014 to use part of the remaining TAF-DRP budget (900.000€) to finance additional START projects, as the demand was very high. Accordingly, a second call for START projects was launched on 20th of May as well. The call will be closed on 8th of July. Approximately 24 projects can be selected under this new call, the grant size will be maximum 20.000€ per project.

• Danube Financing Dialogue
The 4th Danube Financing Dialogue took place on 23-24 April 2015 in Zagreb. Once again a successful dialogue with promising and inspiring approaches to funding sources could be completed. Furthermore it enabled an exchange of outstanding project ideas which contribute to promote the Danube Region even further. The spring 2016 Danube Financing Dialogue is already under discussion and is expected to take place in Bratislava.

• EuroAccess Danube Region
The new database on EU-funding opportunities in the Danube Region is being prepared. It is expected to go online at the beginning of 2016.
