Tourism Minister Gvozdenović in Slovenia: European Commission willing to support Montenegro in becoming high quality tourist destination
Portorož, Slovenia (3 June 2015) – Minister of Tourism and Sustainable Development Branimir Gvozdenović attended the Summit 100 business leaders in Southeast Europe, where he met with European Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc.
The meeting commended Montenegro’s progress towards becoming a high quality tourist destination, stressing particularly the country's improvements when it comes to the construction of transport infrastructure. It is very important to continue strengthening the connectedness between Montenegro and other relevant tourist markets, the meeting emphasised.
Commissioner Bulc voiced the EU willingness to continue supporting Montenegro in drafting technical and other relevant transport documentation, adding that the EC has already reached a preliminary agreement with Montenegro's Ministry of Tourism and Sustainable Development.
The two officials also discussed the environmental protection and the EC’s intentions to support the “Smart City” cioncept aimed at improving the quality of life of Montenegrin citizens and tourists.
