Podgorica, Montenegro (10 June 2015) -- Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro Duško Marković hosted earlier today NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who is paying an official visit to Montenegro.

The meeting focused on the rule of law and reform of the intelligence and security sector. DPM Marković informed the NATO Secretary General about Montenegro’s judiciary reform process, results in strengthening institutional capacity in combating organised crime and corruption, and plans for making further achievements in these areas.

Secretary General Stoltenberg noted that Montenegro has made evident progress in the key areas, including the rule of law, and encouraged the country to vigorously pursue reforms in that direction.

The meeting in particular praised the results of the intelligence and security sector's reforms, bearing in mind that this process, although having been systematically very challenging, was successfully implemented.
