Podgorica, Montenegro (22 June 2015) -- Deputy Prime Minister Duško Marković, hosted earlier today Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro Janina Hrebickova, for talks on further engagement of the OSCE and its support for Montenegro’s efforts in the field of rule of law and human rights.

Ms Hrebickova commended the excellent cooperation established between the OSCE and the Government of Montenegro, stressing that Montenegro has made evident progress in the key areas, which is why the OSCE will focus its attention to individual issues of importance to the state.

When it comes to the OSCE support for the reform processes, Deputy Prime Minister Marković stressed good experience in cooperating with the organisation and said Montenegro is eager to continue cooperation and that focus should be put on crucial issues such as creating conditions for greater sustainability of law enforcement authorities, developing an integrated security system and issues of respect for and the protection of individual rights and freedoms.

The meeting also concentrated on the need to enhance communication and coordination between institutions, and between institutions and the media, which will be the subject of the OSCE's support in the future.
