Government of Montenegro appoints Open Government Partnership national team under new name

Podgorica, Montenegro (23 July 2015) – At its 121st Cabinet sitting earlier today, the Government of Montenegro appointed the national Open Government Partnership (OGP) Operational Team under a new name that now allows for involvement of all government branches in the work of the team.

The Team is headed by Srđan Kusovac, Head of the Public Relations Bureau and Adviser to the Prime Minister, and it comprises mid-level and senior civil servants from the Government, Chamber of Commerce, and the Old Royal Capital of Cetinje, and four civil society representatives from prominent NGOs in Montenegro. A fifth civil society representative will be appointed after a renewed public call the Office for Cooperation with NGOs has launched on 20 July 2015 seeking a civil society representative for monitoring the area of Improving public integrity.

Pursuant to the Government's Decision on establishing the Operational Team of 18 June 2015, the Team's task are as follows:
 Drafting action plans in accordance with the OGP principles;
 Monitoring the implementation of activities from the action plans;
 Activity on improving the cooperation between the public and civil sectors and greater citizen involvement in public policy making.

The Team’s mandate is four years.

The Team reports annually by default to the Government on its work and on the implementation of measures from national OGP action plans.
