Italy strongly supports Montenegro in achieving its foreign policy priorities, Foreign Minister Gentlioni says
Podgorica, Montenegro (30 July 2015) -- Prime Minister of Montenegro Milo Đukanović talked earlier today in Podgorica with Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni, who is paying an official visit to Montenegro.
Italy strongly supports Montenegro in achieving its strategic foreign policy goals, the meeting emphasised.
The two officials noted that the forthcoming accession of Montenegro to NATO and further integration into the European Union are important steps towards boosting stability in the region and is in the interest of both the Balkan countries and the EU.
It was jointly concluded that the two countries have developed very good cooperation based on development and integration priorities.
In that context, the two officials discussed further cooperation with the Italian partner A2A, expecting the talks to be continued in the best faith towards reaching a positive outcome in line with Montenegro’s development needs.
Both sides expressed interest in deepening and broadening cooperation based on significant projects being implemented by the two countries.
