Montenegro’s @MeGovernment Twitter account 7th most followed official channel in world per capita

Podgorica, Montenegro (24 August 2015) – According to a survey conducted and published by the OECD and aided by Twiplomacy, Government of Montenegro’s official Twitter channel @MeGovernment is the 7th most followed main official Government account in the world per capita.

The survey was conducted in March 2015, and it places Montenegro below Ecuador’s presidency, the UK’s Number 10, Chile’s Government, Costa Rica’s and Turkey’s presidencies, and Israel’s Government. Croatia’s and Slovenia’s governments are also listed among the top 30 accounts, along side other world governments and leaders renowned for their social media prominence.
