Extending NATO invitation to Montenegro would be good news for Slovenia, President Pahor underlines

Ljubljana, Slovenia (26 October 2015) -- During his official visit to Ljubljana, Prime Minister Milo Đukanović met with Slovenian President Borut Pahor.

The working lunch, hosted by President Pahor in honour of the Montenegrin Prime Minister, concluded that Montenegro and Slovenia have developed excellent relations.

President Pahor pointed out that Slovenia strongly supports European and Euro-Atlantic path of Montenegro ahead of the upcoming decision on extending an invitation for NATO membership, stressing this would be great news for Slovenia. He commented on economic cooperation between the two countries, noting there are opportunities for strengthening cooperation in energy, agriculture, tourism and other areas.

Prime Minister Đukanović thanked President of Slovenia for his country’s continued support, as well as development and expert assistance the country has been providing to Montenegro, emphasising that the Slovenian investors, with whom Montenegro have good experience, are welcome.
