US Secretary of State John Kerry congratulates Montenegro on historic success

Brussels, Belgium (2 December 2015) – Earlier today in Brussels, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Igor Lukšić met with US Secretary of State John Kerry.

Mr Kerry congratulated Montenegro on its historic success, hopeful that the country's membership in the Alliance will contribute to regional stability. Further Montenegro’s reform-related efforts will confirm the credibility of the open-door policy, he underlined.

Deputy Prime Minister Lukšić thanked the US Secretary of State for the continued support pledged by the United States in the process of joining NATO. He stressed Montenegro's undiminished commitment to continue implementing reforms during the accession process and afterwards.
