DPM Lukšić attends meeting of Partnership Commission of US-Adriatic Charter (A5)

Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina (10 December 2015) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Igor Lukšić took part in the meeting of the Partnership Commission of the US-Adriatic Charter (A5), which was held earlier today in Mostar, within Bosnia and Herzegovina’s presidency of the Charter.

Deputy Prime Minister Lukšić emphasised the historic importance of NATO's decision to invite Montenegro to join the Alliance, which will positively affect the entire region of the Western Balkans through the strengthening of stability and security, as well as economic and democratic development. In that regard, DPM Luksic said that the A5 proved an excellent mechanism for boosting regional cooperation in terms of Euro-Atlantic integration, but also a forum for exchanging views on current security challenges and contributing to peace-support operations. He pointed out that Montenegro stands ready to continue its active role in promoting regional and global security.

The meeting was hosted by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak, and attended by representatives of the Charter members - Albania, Croatia, Macedonia, representative of the United States, as well as representatives of the partners of the Charter - Serbia, Slovenia and Kosovo.

The Partnership Commission’s meeting marked the end of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s presidency of the Charter. The one-year chairmanship will be taken over by Croatia.
