Montenegro Cabinet's session

Podgorica, Montenegro (18 December 2015) – At yesterday’s session, the Montenegrin Cabinet endorsed the Autumnal analysis of macroeconomic developments and structural reforms in 2015, which gives an overview of achievements and developments in the international environment, macroeconomic sectors, public finance management and sectoral policies of Montenegro for the period January-September 2015. The discussion emphasised that the data for the first nine months show that real economic growth in 2014 is expected to be at the rate of 4.3%.

The Government adopted the National Strategy for Employment and Human Resources 2016-2020, which defines the five-year framework for implementing active employment policies and special measures and activities for overcoming the challenges identified on the market. The main aim of the strategy is to create optimal conditions for the growth of employment and boosting human resources in Montenegro in pursuing the key policies, namely increasing employment and reducing the unemployment rate, effective functioning of the labour market, improvement of qualifications and competences aligned with the labor market needs and promotion of social inclusion and poverty reduction.

At yesterday’s session, the Montenegrin Cabinet approved the Bill on Interpreters and the Bill on trainees in courts and the State Prosecutor's Office and the Bar Exam, as part of strengthening independence, impartiality and accountability of the judiciary, and developing legal and judicial institutions in the function of the judiciary.

In order to create conditions for the implementation of the Law on confiscation of proceeds of criminal activity, the government adopted a decree on the methods of sale and lease of temporarily confiscated immovable property acquired through criminal activity.

Continuing the process of reform of the public administration, the Government approved the Bill Amending the Law on Local Government aimed at fully and accurately regulating the legislative framework for the exercise of the right of citizens to local government and removing the solutions that have not yielded positive effects or proven to be controversial in terms of application.
