Podgorica, Montenegro (21 December 2015) -- Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Ivan Brajović hosted earlier today a delegation of China's Poly Group, one of China's largest state-owned investment company, headed by the company’s President Eric Wang.

The meeting discussed the opportunities for investing in the Montenegrin infrastructure projects, with special emphasis on the development of the Port of Bar, construction of the Adriatic-Ionian highway and the remaining sections of the Bar-Boljare highway, through some of the modalities of public-private partnerships.

President of the Poly Group Wang Eric voiced satisfaction with his repeated visit to Montenegro, after 2009, when the Bar-Boljare highway project was discussed. Mr Wang said that his company is committed to continuing the implementation of the project and expressed willingness to send in earl 2016 the teams to closely investigate the conditions for the implementation of the infrastructure projects the company is interested in.

Minister Brajović said that the interest showed by foreign investors, including the Poly Group, for investing in the Montenegrin infrastructure is encouraging, and is expected to be a powerful generator of economic growth in the future. In that context, it was concluded that the interest of the Chinese companies in development projects in Montenegro contributes to further advancement of traditionally good relations between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Port of Bar, who referred to the development projects for which they are looking for partners.
