Podgorica, Montenegro (15 February 2016) -- Prime Minister Milo Đukanović congratulated his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vučić on 15 February - Statehood Day of Serbia, sending the best wishes for the progress and welfare of the country and its citizens.

"I believe that we share the satisfaction that, despite a wide-range of challenges, the bilateral relations and cooperation have been enhanced, based on traditional closeness and connections between Montenegro and Serbia and common strategic goals linking our countries and peoples. Further progress in the EU accession processopens up new opportunities for this. It is also a strong contribution to strengthening regional stability. I am sure that NATO invitation extended to Montenegro represents an additional guarantee in that direction. All this makes a good basis for the implementation of major projects of common interest in road, railway and energy infrastructure, and broader development of economic relations and comprehensive cooperation in all areas," PM Đukanović says in his congratulatory letter.

With a view to strengthening the political dialogue and cooperation, the Montenegrin Prime Minister called on Mr Vučić to visit Montenegro during this year, in which the country celebrates its tenth independence anniversary.
