FM Žugić hosts World Bank Office Country Manager for Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina Tatiana Proskuryakova
Podgorica, Montenegro (25 February 2015) -- Finance Minister Radije Žugić hosted earlier today the World Bank Office Country Manager for Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina Tatiana Proskuryakova for talks on the next five-year cooperation framework.
Mrs Proskuryakova presented the main focus areas of joint action, which are mostly related to macroeconomic stability, resilience to external shocks and inclusive access to economic opportunities. In addition to the projects already initiated and being implemented according to the planned dynamics, the meeting agreed on the expansion of cooperation to increase the efficiency of public finance and fiscal consolidation in the first pillar of the strategy, as well as the support in the areas of qualifications, labour market, sustainable tourism, as well as in encouraging private investment and job creation in key sectors within the second pillar of the support.
Emphasising that cooperation with the World Bank resulted in good business decisions, Minister Žugić reiterated his belief that the Montenegrin economy will be further reinforced and that reforms will be implemented in order to contribute to the valorisation of all available resources and ensure prosperity of all the citizens.
