In the Ministry of Defense is held the Initial Integration Conference

Today in the Ministry of Defense is held the Initial Integration Conference, in whose work have participated the representatives of the NATO working groups and the Ministry of Defense for accession and integration of the defense system into NATO. 

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, Admiral Dragan Samardžić said that the Conference is the first important step in the process of integrating the defense system of Montenegro into NATO. He thanked all representatives of the NATO Command Structure for the previous support of the reform process of the defense system and expressed the readiness to continue with the reform activates till the full military integration into NATO.  

The Chairman of the NATO Working Group, Colonel  Roberto Esposito from NATO Strategic Command for Transformation (ATC) stressed the readiness of the Alliance that in the process of accession and integration to provide all necessary support to Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Montenegro. The Chairman of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Montenegro,  Colonel Rajko Pešić pointed out that integration will be demanding and challenging but that will bring new quality and benefits in the continuation of the reforms as well as new solutions in the defense system of Montenegro. 

In the Conference are agreed the draft of the Plan of Integration of the Defense System of Montenegro as well as the NATO mechanism of support of that process. The Plan of integration has the goal to harmonize the defense system of Montenegro up to the level of full interoperability with NATO. The future steps and joint activities in the integration process are also agreed.
