Admiral Samardžić with General Pavel: Constant support of NATO in the reform process of the Armed Forces of Montenegro

Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, Admiral Dragan Samardžić met today with the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, General Petr Pavel who is staying in the official visit to Montenegro.
During the meeting it is discussed about the integration of the Montenegro defense system into NATO and the support of the Alliance in that process.
Admiral Samardžić expressed gratitude on constant support of NATO in the process of transformation and reforms of the Armed Forces of Montenegro and presented the most significant achievements in the field of developing the strategic defense documents, development of capabilities, modernization and restructuring of the Armed Forces. The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro particularly stressed the importance of participation of our members in international operations and benefits, which have contributed significantly on improving the planning and realization of training and exercises and accelerated the process of equipping, standardization and modernization.
General Pavel thanked Montenegro for its contribution to the NATO operation in Afghanistan and stressed the importance of pooling resources and joint planning and conduct of operations in response to contemporary security challenges, which are very complex. He said that the Armed Forces of Montenegro has made remarkable progress in the development of interoperability and capabilities, and that is recognized as a reliable partner in international operations. General Pavel expressed NATO's readiness to continue to support Montenegro in the process of joining the Alliance.
