Send –off ceremony of the IV contingent of the Armed Forces of Montenegro in „Resolute Support“mission
Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, Colonel Rajko Pešić reminded on six year of participation of the members of the Armed Forces of Montenegro. “from then, 12 our contingents has successfully completed the engagement in Afghanistan with total 346 members which represents about 18 percent of the overall number of the members of the Armed Forces of Montenegro. The experience gained in the ISAF mission has immeasurable significance in the training and education of our members, improving the overall capabilities of the Armed Forces and the defense system reform in Montenegro, "said Colonel Pesic.
He added that the participation and active contribution to the ISAF mission "Resolute Support" in Afghanistan, UNMIL in Liberia, EU NAVFOR ATALANTA in Somalia and EUTM Mali, Montenegro and the Armed Forces expressed its responsibility and awareness of the need for safety and security in the world, thus establishing the image of a credible and reliable partner in the Euro-Atlantic community.
„Members of the IV contingent in the mission Resolute Support, I require to be conscientious and responsible in executing the set tasks and in the field to apply the knowledge and the skills that you have gained and exercised during the your training pre sending. Also, significant should be your obligations that in every step respect the culture, tradition, customs of the proud Afghan people. On that manner you will represent in the best light your population, your country” concluded Colonel Pešić.
Commander of the IV contingent, Major Radojica Pejović, thanked on the trust all that made possible that the complete training and preparations be adequately realized. Applying for participation in the mission of RS, members of the IV contingent qualify their capabilities for the process of selection, training, preparation and deployment, thus clearly expressed their commitment to the strategic objectives of the state and the Armed Forces, respectively, the overall already undertaken reforms and integration, developing partnerships and cooperation, maintaining interoperability with partner forces and contributing to the establishment of sustainable peace and stability in the territory of Afghanistan, "said Major Pejovic.
The send –off ceremony attended the state secretary of the Ministry of Defense Bojan Šarkić, representatives of the Ministry of Defense and General Staff as well as the USA Defense Attaché Majkl Tarkvinto.
