Admiral Dragan Samardžić on OSCE Military Doctrine Seminar

Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro Admiral Dragan Samardzic, on 16 and 17 February of this year attends in Vienna the OSCE Military Doctrine Seminar - HLMDS 2016, which is organized on the basis of the Vienna Document 2011, in order to improve relations and promote contact between relevant military institutions, as well as the opening of discussions on doctrinal changes and their impact on the defense structure in light of the current security situation in Europe.

On Seminar are participating the high representatives of the Armed Forces, Ministries of Defense, Academic Community and experts in the field of defense from 57 OSCE state participants.

As an introductory speakers, the seminar was opened by the Chiefs of the General Staff of the Netherlands and Austria General Tom Middendorp and General Othmar Commenda, while the panelists and moderators during the seminar will be Chief of General Staff of the German General Volker Wieker, General Ben Hodges - the Commander of US forces in Europe, General Andrey Tretiyak - Main Advisor to the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Rose Gottemoeller - US Undersecretary of State for Arms control and International Security, General Wolfgang Wosolsobe - Director General of the EU Military Staff, Judy Dempsey from the European Carnegie Center, Rear Admiral James G. Foggo III - Deputy Command of US Marine Forces in Europe, General Dennis Gyllensporre - Chief of General Staff of Sweden, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Ihor Dolhov and others.

On the sidelines of the conference, Admiral Samardžić spoke with the Chiefs of General Staff of Austria, Germany, Norway, the Netherlands and Macedonia, and the focus of the talks was the security situation in Europe and future challenges.

The delegation of Montenegro, except the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Admiral Dragan Samardzic is composed by Ambassador Slavica Milačić, Lieutenant General Ljubisa Jokic, Lieutenant Commander Vučić Bošković and Captain Milorad Babovic.
