Nikšić, Montenegro (18 March 2016) – Minister of Labour and Social Welfare of Montenegro Zorica Kovačević met earlier today with Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall.

The Duchess of Cornwall visited children placed in foster families within the UNICEF campaign titled "Every Child Needs a Family." Minister Kovačević and famous British actor and friend of the campaign Nicholas Lyndhurst joined the Duchess of Cornwall for the visit. The campaign aims to encourage more people to become foster parents in order to avoid vulnerable children being accommodated in institutions.

Minister Kovačević informed the Duchess of Cornwall about Montenegro’s efforts towards developing foster care, thus contributing to the exercise of every child’s right to grow up in a safe family environment.

Minister Kovačević thanked the UNICEF representatives, especially Mr Benjamin Perks, for the support the organisation wholeheartedly provides to Montenegro in safeguarding children's rights, as well as Mr Nicholas Lyndhurst for his another visit to Montenegro, as it makes a significant contribution to the popularisation of foster care in Montenegro.
