Admiral Samardžić – General Hodges: The support of the U.S AF to the integration of the Montenegro’s defense system in NATO
Chief of the General
Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, Admiral Dragan Samardžić met today
with the Commander of the U.S Army for Europe, General Ben Hodges.
During the meeting is discussed about the process of accession and integration of the Montenegro's defense system in NATO, the support of the U.S Armed Forces on that path. Admiral Samardzic has expressed the gratitude on constant support of the USA AF on the process of transformation and reforms of the Armed Forces of Montenegro and presented the most significant achievements in the area of strategic defense documents, capability developments, modernization and recon structuring of the Armed Forces.
The Chief of the General
Staff has especially stressed the significance of the participation of the AF
MNE members in international operations and benefits that contributed on
significant improvement of the planning and realization of the training and
exercises and accelerated the process of equipping, standardization and modernization
of the Montenegro's Armed Forces.
General Hodges thanked
the Montenegro on continuous support and contribution to NATO operations in
Afghanistan and highlighted the significance of pooling the resources and
common planning as response to the contemporary complex security challenges. He
said that the Armed Forces of Montenegro have made remarkable progress on
development of interoperability and capability and that they are recognized as
reliable partner in the international peacekeeping operations.
