Prime Minister Đukanović proposes dismissal of two and appointment of four members of Montenegrin Cabinet

Podgorica, Montenegro (7 May 2016) -- Prime Minister Milo Đukanović sent late this evening to the Parliament a proposal for the dismissal of two and appointment of four members of the 40th Montenerin Cabinet.

In his letter, the Prime Minister said that at the meeting of the Montenegrin Parliament of 27 January 2016, after the 40th Government had won a no-confidence vote, he offered to opposition political enities to enter the Government in order to create conditions for strengthening confidence in the electoral process.

"After months of political dialogue and the signing of the Agreement on creation of conditions for free and fair elections on 26 April, a number of opposition political entities signatories of the agreement have proposed candidates for the Cabinet members, thus creating conditions for the government's reshuffle," the Prime Minister’s letter reads.

In line with Article 176 of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament of Montenegro, Prime Minister Milo Đuknović proposed the dismissal of Finance Minister Radoje Žugić and Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Zorica Kovaćević, and the appointment of Milenko Popović as Deputy Prime Minister, Goran Danilović as Minister of the Interior, Raško Konjević as Minister of Finance, and Boris Marić as Minister of Labour and Social Welfare.
