PM Đukanović speaks with Slovenian Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec
Podgorica, Montenegro (11 May 2016) -- Prime Minister Milo Đukanović met earlier today in Žabljak with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Karl Erjavec.
The Prime Minister thanked FM Erjavec for Slovenia's political support for European and Euro-Atlantic integrations of Montenegro, as well as its expert and development assistance provided not only to Montenegro, but to the region as a whole.
"Montenegro is a serious partner and friend of Slovenia in the Western Balkans," said the Prime Minister.
Minister Erjavec pointed out that "Montenegro and Slovenia are two friendly countries" that have the potential to achieve much more in bilateral cooperation. He congratulated Montenegro on the soon signing of the Protocol of Accession to NATO, and particularly emphasised the importance of membership in the Alliance for further progress in European integration.
The two officials expressed satisfaction with a number of infrastructure projects in the municipality of Žabljak implemented in coopertion with the Slovenian Government, and agreed that such cooperation will be continued.They opened earlier today a recycling centre worth EUR 2.4 million, which was co-financed by the Slovenian Government.
