Defence Minister Pejanović Đurišić: Montenegro committed to achieving full military interoperability with NATO partners

Podgorica, Montenegro (22 April 2016) -- Minister of Defence Milica Pejanović Đurišić met earlier today with ambassadors of NATO member states in Montenegro. The meeting took place at the Embassy of Hungary, which is NATO contact - point country in Montenegro.
Appreciating the importance of the support the partner countries provided to the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Montenegro in 2015, Minister Pejanović Đurišić reiterated the country’s commitment to further developing defence capabilities in order to achieve full interoperability with militaries of other NATO members.
She said that additional efforts are to be made in order to implement all the activities set out in the military integration plan, in line with the agreed deadlines, which will be presented to NATO by late May, thus contributing to pursuing overall reforms in the defence sector.
For the purpose of informing partner countries about Montenegro's plans and priorities in the field of Euro-Atlantic integration, the Ministry of Defence distributed to NATO member-states' ambassadors a document on the most important activities the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Montenegro are undertaking under NATO integration agenda.
