Pejanović-Đurišić met with Lajčak: Cooperation of Montenegro and Slovakia is meaningful and qualitative
Minister of Defense, prof. Milica Pejanović-Đurišić PhD met today with the Vice President of the Government and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integrations of the Republic of Slovakia, Miroslav Lajčak who is on a working visit to Montenegro.
Minister Lajčak on that occasion congratulated on yesterday’s singing of the Accession Protocol of Montenegro in NATO pointing out that Montenegro has achieved great success and respectable results in a very short period of time which is in the right manner welcomed by the member countries of the Alliance. He emphasized that by participating in the upcoming NATO meetings as observer, Montenegro will have the chance to directly familiarize with the organization and the way of functioning of the Alliance.
Minister Pejanović-Đurišić pointed out that by concrete and qualitative reforms and by giving the right answers to various political and geostrategic challenges, Montenegro demonstrated and proved that shares the Euro Atlantic values, possesses the appropriate capacities as well as it is credible and reliable partner in the international community. She added that the invitation for membership of Montenegro in NATO together with Accession Protocol signing represents most significant political goal in the decade since the restoration of independence.
Interlocutors have concluded that the cooperation of Montenegro and Slovakia is meaningful and qualitative and expressed the belief that it will be intensified in the future period and expressed the expectations of forthcoming ratification of the Montenegro’s Membership Agreement in NATO. Minister Lajčak stressed his belief that Montenegro will soon together with the other 28 NATO members participate in the creation of the common policy of the Alliance.
