Press release: Minister Brajović and his associates visit camp Moračica

Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Mr. Ivan Brajović and his associates have today visited the Moračica Camp on the occasion of pouring concrete into foundation pits of the eponymous bridge to officially mark the commencement of construction works on that particular structure. Moračica Bridge and Vjeternik Tunnel are considered to be one of the most challenging structures of the Bar-Boljare highway’s priority section Smokovac-Uvač-Mateševo. The Moračica Bridge is designed as a prestressed concrete continuous rigid-frame bridge with a variable cross-section main span of 190m, carried out by the free cantilever method. Disposition of the bridge span is as follows: 95m+170m+3×190m+125m = 960m, and the height of five intermediate piers ranging from 51m to 161m. The total length of the bridge is 960m, with the longitudinal alignment gradient of 4% and a cross slope of 2.5%. The total width of the bridge is 23.4m, containing two lanes in both directions, pedestrian paths and maintenance paths with all accompanying equipment and windshield protection.

The minister said that, as a demanding investor, we bear in mind the protection of our interests. He is also convinced that, within the stipulated period, we will be delivered a quality project which is in full compliance with all standards, applicable regulations and contractual procedures.

The event was attended by Mr. Gao Liang, Director General of CRBC Montenegro Branch, who said that the job will be finished in time. Mr. Gao also stated that the company CRBC has completed lots of projects and that he sees no reason for that not to be the case this time as well.

Mr. Zhang Xiang, Charge d'affaires of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Montenegro, has congratulated all workers present on site results that have been achieved up to date, and then wished a successful commencement works on the Moračica Bridge, with the full support of the Embassy in Montenegro.
