Tirana, Albania (30 May 2016) – Prime Minister Milo Đukanović, after participating at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Tirana, met with the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania Ilir Meta.

In an open and friendly conversation Meta congratulated Prime Minister Đukanović on the signing of the Accession Protocol with NATO, and stressed that Albania will be among the first member states to ratify it.

The Prime Minister thanked for the congratulations and the help and support that Albania gives to Montenegro, stressing that special importance for the progress of certain country in the integration has neighbours' attitude. PM Đukanović noted that Albania has done this from the first day, as well as other neighbouring countries, which is an important legitimation of Montenegro for progress towards full membership in the Alliance. Among other things, the Prime Minister emphasised that Montenegro is ready to share its experience in EU negotiation process with friends such as Albania.

The two officials expressed satisfaction with development of bilateral relations and cooperation, and exchanged views on current developments in the Western Balkans.
