Helicopter of Army of Montenegro crashes

Podgorica, Montenegro (10 June 2016) – Helicopter of the Army of Montenegro – Gazelle HN – 45M, number 12941 – crashed today around 1 pm near Komanski most in Podgorica, during the execution of regular planned flight training.

Deputy Commander of the Air Forces of Montenegro Colonel Namik Arifović and clerk at Flight Operations Desk Lieutenant Colonel Miroljub Antanasijević were aboard.

Colonel Arifović and Lt. Col. Antanasijević are severely injured and hospitalised in the Clinical Centre of Montenegro.

The Ministry of Defence, in cooperation with state authorities, takes all actions in identifying the cause of the crash. The formation of commission to identify the accident cause is ongoing.

The Ministry of Defence will regularly inform the public about new relevant information on the accident.
