Minister Bošković attends EFT meeting in Turin
Turin, Italy (10 June 2016) – Montenegrin delegation, led by Minister of Education Predrag Bošković, attended the two-day meeting of the Governing Board of the European Training Foundation (ETF ) in Turin.
Minister Bošković attended the meeting as an observer, which is the first time in the history of the Governing Board that a non-member state representative participates in the meeting.
The Minister presented achievements of Montenegro in the field of human capital through the reform of education, training and labor market, stressing that all policies and activities that are planned and implemented in vocational education take into account the recommendations from EU documents and good practice. Special emphasis is placed on activities aimed at monitoring the implementation of the Riga Conclusions relating to: learning by doing, the further development of quality assurance in accordance with the European Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET), improving access to vocational training and qualifications for all key competencies in the initial and continuing education and training, as well as the professional development of teachers, trainers and mentors in vocational education.
"In the educational system of Montenegro special attention is paid to secondary vocational education and entrepreneurial learning which is an integral part of the curriculum of all four-year programme of vocational education as a compulsory or elective subject," Bošković said.
Minister Bošković stated that by 2020 vocational education in Montenegro will be in line with labor market needs, enabling lifelong learning and mobility, personal and professional development of young people and adults with established quality assurance system, in which the qualifications are based on competencies and outcomes of learning.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Minister Bošković met with ETF Director Madlen Şerban, representative of the Directorate for Labour and Social Affairs at the European Commission Kiryakov Kiril and the head of the Department for thematic support, monitoring and evaluation in the Directorate-General for Regional Cooperation and Accession Negotiations Bernard Brunet.
