Podgorica, Montenegro (17 June 2016) – Deputy Prime Minister Duško Marković hosted today the Head of Unit for Montenegro in the European Commission's Directorate General for Enlargement Dirk Lange.

Lange showed interest in the results achieved in the field of the rule of law and macroeconomic reforms. The two officials discussed the newly constituted Government and its activities on the fulfillment of the tasks of the European agenda.

DPM Marković expressed belief that the government of electoral confidence will fulfill the task of creating conditions for fair elections, but also achieve defined strategic objectives, primarily in the field of European integration of Montenegro.

"We will make the necessary efforts so that established political model works, in order to maintain continuity of the reforms under the current circumstances," the Deputy Prime Minister said.

"The main task of law enforcement is to contribute to the results in their jurisdictions, and my assessment is that every day the necessary capacity in these institutions is achieved, and that they work successfully," DPM Marković stated, noting the progress in the fight against corruption and organised crime.

The officials agreed that one of the priority tasks of the Government is the adoption of the Strategy of the Public Administration Reform and that its implementation will have strong reform, administrative and fiscal effects.

Head of the EU Delegation in Podgorica Mitja Drobnič also attended the meeting.
