DPM Marković meets Azerbaijani President of Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev

Podgorica, Montenegro (24 June 2016) – Deputy Prime Minister Duško Marković hosted today President of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan Ramiz Rzayev.

DPM Marković officially and personally welcomed and informed Mr Rzayev about the process of Montenegro's accession to NATO and EU, with particular emphasis on judicial reform, rule of law, as well as on the importance of adopting and implementing EU standards.

The two officials expressed the readiness to promote partnership in all areas, noting the results that Montenegro achieved in all important areas, both in the field of internal as well as foreign policy and concluded that the relationship between Montenegro and the Republic of Azerbaijan is based on the good results of bilateral cooperation, as well as on the willingness of both countries to further improve partnerships.

Azerbaijani President of the Supreme Court stressed the closeness of the judicial systems, as well as the importance of respecting European standards and congratulated Montenegro for joining NATO.

President of the Supreme Court of Montenegro Vesna Medenica also attended the meeting.
