DPM Lazović announces new agreement with A2A and contract regarding construction of TPP Pljevlja Block II
Podgorica, Montenegro (29 June 2016) – Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Financial System Vujica Lazović said that preparation of new contract between Montenegro and the Italian company A2A regarding the co-ownership in Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG) is coming to an end.
"I expect that this agreement, as well as the bilateral agreement with the Czech Republic will be on this Cabinet's session agenda or next week at the latest," DPM Lazović stated.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that he was expecting the final offer of the company " Skoda Praha" by Friday. Speaking about the benefits of the construction of TPP Pljevlja Block II, DPM Lazović said that the first block of TPP Pljevlja should be closed in due course, and that it produces almost half of the electricity that Montenegro needs. With the construction of TPP Pljevlja Block II, Montenegro uses one of its natural resources – coal. He added that he considers important the fact that the construction of TPP Pljevlja Block II will resolve the heating system in Pljevlja, which is the significant environmental aspect because the Block II will be built in accordance with the latest technological developments and standards.
