PM Đukanović leaves on visit to Iceland
Podgorica, Montenegro (28 June 2016) – Prime Minister Milo Đukanovic left today on visit to Iceland, where he will have a meeting tomorrow with Prime Minister Sigurdur Ingi Johansson in Reykjavik.
Besides meeting with Icelandic counterpart, PM Đukanović will also have meeting in the Parliament with the President and members of the Icelandic Foreign Affairs Committee.
Prime Minister Đukanović will, during his stay in Reykjavik, give a lecture at the University of Iceland on "Montenegrin membership in NATO and stability of the Western Balkans", organised by the Institute of International Relations. The lecture will be attended by the participants of the Summer school of small countries who are students from different universities across Europe.
The visit to Iceland, the country which first recognised sovereign and independent Montenegro and the first country to ratify the Protocol on the Accession of Montenegro to NATO, represents a new impulse for strengthening friendly relations between the two countries, as well as the possibility to exchange experiences and opinions for improvement of bilateral cooperation with mutual interest.
