Podgorica, Montenegro (30 June 2016) – Prime Minister Milo Đukanović met today with delegation of Telenor Group, led by CEO Sigve Brekke.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the cooperation of the Government of Montenegro and Telenor Group, and the Prime Minister stressed that the relationship with Telenor reflects relations between the two countries and the two governments – Montenegrin and Norwegian. PM Đukanović congratulated the CEO and other representatives of Telenor Group on the jubilee – 20 years of operation in Montenegro, and pointed out that the Government of Montenegro will continue to contribute to the further development of the telecommunications market in the country. He also expressed the satisfaction with the fact that Telenor's experience in Montenegro served as introduction of Telenor Group in other countries, as well as that Telenor Group found competent telecommunication personnel in Montenegro. The Prime Minister emphasised that regarding European and Euro-Atlantic integration Montenegro will work on further improvement of the business environment, and that he looks forward to continuing cooperation with Telenor as socially responsible company.
CEO of Telenor Group pointed out that Montenegro is one of the first markets outside of Norway on which this company expanded its operations and that Telenor marks twenty years of development, continuous investment and advanced services. He congratulated the Prime Minister on the invitation for NATO membership, and stressed the importance of the progress of digitization process and said that he believes that the Montenegrin market has the potential for even faster growth.
"In order to achieve this, it is necessary, among other things, to further enhance the transparency and predictability of the business environment," CEO of Telenor Group said.
