Montenegro and China issue commemorative envelopes

PR ServicePodgorica, Montenegro (7 July 2016) – Montenegro and the People's Republic China issued commemorative envelopes on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and top officials of the two friendly countries exchanged letters.

President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović said in the letter addressed to the Chinese President Xi Jinping that the two countries have good friendly relations based on the long tradition and deep mutual respect and trust as the strongest basis for further deepening of friendship and partnership.

"Respected President, allow me to express my sincere admiration for the progress China has made in the last 30 years, particularly in the field of economic development. In this regard, I would like to point out that Montenegro and China are not only political allies, but serious economic partners through Montenegro's active role within Chinese programme 16 + 1, operation in the region of Central and Southeastern Europe," the letter of Montenegrin President reads.

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Darko Pajović in the letter addressed to the Chairman of the National People's Congress Zhang Dejiang highlights the readiness of Montenegro to continuously improve cooperation in all areas of mutual interest for the citizens of Montenegro and the People's Republic of China.

"In the next period, we need to work together on the valorization of the enormous opportunities that exist to strengthen relations in all areas, especially in tourism, culture and economy. I want to believe that in the future there will be more historical projects in Montenegro, such as highway that further contributes to the rapprochement and deepening friendship between peoples of Montenegro and China," Pajović's letter reads.

In the letter addressed to the Prime Minister of Montenegro Milo Đukanović, Premier of the State Council of China Li Keqiang stressed long-lasting and stable development of the bilateral relations between the two countries during the last decade.

"China would like to achieve cooperation with Montenegro at the highest level, using platforms such as the Cooperation Programme of PR China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe," Keqiang noted.

Montenegro Post issued today Montenegrin commemorative envelope and the stamp, work of graphic designer from Podgorica Zoran Popović. China National Philatelic Corporation issued yesterday Chinese commemorative envelope, designed by Ma Xiaoling.
