PM's Adviser for human rights and protection from discrimination Jovan Kojičić participates in "Global Conference on LGBTI Human Rights" in Montevideo

Adviser to the Prime Minister for human rights and protection from discrimination Jovan Kojičić traveled to Montevideo (Uruguay), where he will participate as representative of the Government of Montenegro and the speaker in the "Global Conference on LGBTI Human Rights", organised by the Government of Uruguay and the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The goal of the Conference is the exchange of information, best practices and experiences in the promotion and protection of equal rights for LGBTI persons around the world. The goal is to ensure better coordination of financial and political support of governments and multilateral organisations aimed at promoting human rights and the promotion of inclusive development of LGBTI persons. The conference will be divided into four working groups which will be chaired by representatives of governments and NGOs.

Adviser Kojičić was also announced as one of the speakers in the working groups "International and regional diplomacy", chaired by the Dutch Government and "Coordination of donor resources", chaired by the State Department.

Mr Kojičić will present significant results of Montenegro in the field of promotion and protection of the rights and freedoms of LGBT persons, as well as activities that the Government of Montenegro is taking in terms of their social acceptance. Special emphasis will be placed on "OutLeadership Initiative" , a platform for the promotion of diversity and LGBTI inclusion in the Western Balkans , which is led by the Government of Montenegro for the Western Balkans, as well as LGBTI package , all with the aim of further promoting the human rights of LGBTI persons , at national, regional and international level.
