PM Đukanović hosts Turkish Ambassador

PR ServicePodgorica, Montenegro (25 July 2016) – Prime Minister Milo Đukanović hosted today Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Serhat Galip.

Ambassador informed the Prime Minister about the political events in Turkey, as well as that the Protocol on the Accession of Montenegro to NATO passed all parliamentary bodies, which means its imminent ratification in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

Prime Minister Đukanović rated as substantial the stabilisation of the situation in Turkey as soon as possible, and expressed on behalf of the Government and in his own name condolences to the families of those killed in the attempted coup. Regarding the completion of the process of Montenegro's membership in NATO, the Prime Minister said that Montenegro appreciates that the Republic of Turkey supports its process of Euro-Atlantic integration.

The two officials concluded that relations between the two countries are excellent, which symbolically confirms the upcoming opening of the exhibition of Montenegrin-Turkish relations. The exhibition is organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey and the State Archives of Montenegro.
