PM Đukanović to announce start of "Stop violence online" campaign

Podgorica, Montenegro (26 July 2016) – Prime Minister Milo Đukanović and Head of the UNICEF Office in Montenegro Benjamin Perks will announce on 27 July 2016 at 11am at the UN Eco building the beginning of the campaign of the Government of Montenegro and UNICEF "Stop violence online".

On this occasion, the analysis of the survey on Internet experiences between children and parents in Montenegro will be presented. Professor Dr. Svetlana Logar, IPSOS Research Director and Dr. Ida Cortoni, coordinator of the Research Center for Children and Media at the Sapienza University of Rome will discuss this issue.

This campaign is part of the global initiative "WE protect", which includes 50 states and leading IT companies of the world. In 2014 at the first summit in London, sponsored by the British Government, Montenegro signed a joint statement and committed itself to taking concrete steps in the fight against sexual abuse of children on the Internet. The intention is to actively engage educational institutions and adapt them to the process of building safe and inclusive digital society, which will take into account the modern challenges of security on the Internet, raising awareness and digital literacy of all children, parents and teachers.
