Podgorica, Montenegro (26 August 2016) -- Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Internal and Foreign Policy Duško Marković sent a telegram of condolences to Italian Ambassador to Montenegro Vincenzo Del Monaco over the casualties in the devastating earthquake that struck central Italy on Wednesday.

"All of us in Montenegro were shaken by the news of the terrible tragedy that befell central Italy, and the death of a large number of your citizens. Much of what natural disaster demolish can be rebuilt, but human lives are irreparable loss, as well as the pain experienced by the families of the dead," the telegram reads.

DPM Marković states that comfort may be found in the solidarity shown by friendly countries, and Montenegro is certainly one of them, because this type of support does not recognise state borders.

"I have seen footages of citizens of Amatrice, Accumoli and Pescara del Tronto removing rubble with their bare hands and saving lives, which is at times like this the noblest thing one can imagine and achieve. I believe that there is no trouble that solidarity is not able to overcome. I would like you to convey my deep condolences to the victims' families and Italian officials," the Deputy Prime Minister notes in his telegram of condolences.
