PM Đukanović hosts farewell visit by French Ambassador Brumeaux

PR ServicePodgorica, Montenegro (7 September 2016) – Prime Minister Milo Đukanović hosted today a farewell visit by the Ambassador of the Republic of France in Montenegro Véronique Brumeaux.

The Prime Minister thanked Ambassador Brumeaux for her personal contribution to the development of comprehensive relations and cooperation between the two countries in the past. Prime Minister Đukanović expressed satisfaction over the political contacts at a high level, as well as interest of French investors to invest in Montenegro and stressed the expectation that the new infrastructure projects, particularly in energy and tourism, and employment of unused potentials in agriculture, will open up new possibilities for strengthening Montenegrin-French partnership. PM Đukanović cited Krnovo wind power plant as a good example of this partnership. He also welcomed the commitment of the Government of France to the European and Euro-Atlantic perspective of Montenegro and the Western Balkan countries and underlined the importance of expanding normative basis for further strengthening of bilateral relations.

French Ambassador thanked the Prime Minister, the Government and the Montenegrin administration for their cooperation and expressed satisfaction that the overall bilateral relations are dynamic not only politically, but also in the economic field. She welcomed the intensive cooperation between the two countries in the field of education, interior, defense and military, particularly in the context of the ongoing reform processes and Montenegro's EU and NATO integration. Ambassador Brumeaux expressed the commitment of France to continue to provide expert support to Montenegro in order to successfully implement the obligations of the European agenda and noted that the ratification process for Montenegro's membership in NATO runs smoothly in France and in accordance with the planned schedule.
