Memorandum of Cooperation on development of gender equality index to be signed

Podgorica, Montenegro (13 September 2016) -- Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Statistical Office of Montenegro will sign a Memorandum of Cooperation on the project concerning the index of gender equality in Montenegro and other joint activities in the field of anti-discrimination, gender equality and minority rights.

Memorandum will be signed in the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights on 14 September 2016, at 10 a.m.

In order to gain insight into the degree of gender equality in the relevant fields of priority at the national level, it is necessary to develop an instrument for monitoring. The index of gender equality is a need that was originally established by the European Commission, since no instrument has been made specifically to measure gender equality in the context of European Union policy.
