DPM Marković hosts newly appointed Head of EU Delegation to Montenegro Aivo Orav

Podgorica, Montenegro (20 September 2016) -- Montenegro has successfully fulfiled requirements from its European agenda and will continue to work intensively towards EU membership, Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro Duško Marković said at a meeting with newly appointed Head of the EU Delegation to Montenegro Aivo Orav.

DPM Marković noted that conditions have been created for the opening of new or the temporary closure of certain negotiating chapters, and stressed that the rule of law is the foundation Montenegro's integration path is based upon. He pointed out that, after it had establishing and strengthed legislative and institutional frameworks, Montenegro achieved measurable results in the fight against corruption and organised crime.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that the Government of electoral trust is a role model for the political future.

He also pointed out that the conditions were established for holding fair and free parliamentary elections, scheduled for 16 October.
