DPM Lazović meets with Under Secretary of State at Ministry of Digital Affairs of Poland Karol Okonski

Budva, Montenegro (27 September 2016) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Information Society and Telecommunications PhD Vujica Lazović met with Under Secretary of State at Ministry of Digital Affairs of Poland Karol Okonski within the INFOFEST.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Lazović said that Montenegro has achieved an enviable level of development of the information technology and telecommunications, and is the leader in the region on many solutions that are applied on a daily basis. In Montenegro, ICT sector is well developed and competitive at the regional level, primarily due to the existence of strong telecommunications operators with foreign capital. Encouraging investments for the development of the fixed and mobile communication networks, as well as the valorisation of telecommunication infrastructure in state ownership and the digital dividend, are the tasks on which is committed to. Deputy Prime Minister Lazović said that their implementation ensures that the electronic communications sector continues to be a pillar of the Montenegrin economy and a significant segment of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Deputy Prime Minister Lazović and Under Secretary of State Okonski agreed that the two countries have relations at the level of very good partnership and there is a great potential for further development of cooperation, particularly in the areas such as information and communication technologies, as well as the overall cooperation between the two countries.
