PM Đukanović hosts Chairman of Board of Directors of Tosyali Holding Fuat Tosyali
Podgorica, Montenegro (30 September 2016) -- Prime Minister Milo Đukanović hosted Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tosyali Holding Fuat Tosyali, who is paying a visit to Montenegro and the Steel Mill Željezara Nikšić, which is owned by the corporation.
The Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction with the resumption of talks and cooperation with the management of the Toscelik Holding, stressing the Government's commitment to supporting development projects in Montenegro. He spoke about the development momentum in Montenegro, namely the construction of the highway, undersea energy cable, construction of the Block II of the Thermal Power Plant Pljevlja and several tourist resorts on the coast and in the north. In such an environment, further development of the industry, preservation of perspective capacities and support for the development are of paramount importance, the Prime Minister underlined.
He particularly emphasised the importance of resource valuation and preservation of industrial culture in Montenegro. The perspective of the steel mill in Nikšić, which is an industrial centre of Montenegro, is crucial, through increased production and employment on a sound and realistic basis, PM Đukanović said.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tosyali Holding Fuat Tosyali thanked the Government and the Prime Minister for the support, adding that Montenegro and Željezara are extremely important for his company
Despite the negative global trends in the market, the Tosyali Holding has managed to preserve jobs, ensure regular salaries and maintain the level of production, Mr Tosyali stressed. He informed the Prime Minister about the plans for future investments in Željezara Nikšić under the leadership of the new director Erkut Alkay, primarily in terms of production and placement of alloyed and special stainless steel products in Turkey and on other European markets.
Tosyali Holding owns 22 plants and has invested approximately two billion euros, which is expected to result in the production of 25 thousand tons of steel per day.
